IF YOU MISS ME
If You Miss Me. Thirty-four pairs. Two hundred days and change (full title) is one of four installations developed while on residency at the Vermont Studio Center in January of 2017. Further experimentation with the sanitary napkin wrappers collected over the years resulted in a different approach where they became foundational to a final photographic print material, positioned to loosely suggest a seated figure.
Emphasis was placed on pushing the boundaries of what could be done with this material in a sculptural sense and what other forms the work could possibly take. During production, the chair became a critical component and was included to encourage the viewer to consider the implications of its presence in relation to the sanitary napkin wrappers.
